Ghostbusters: Afterlife Official Trailer

The trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife has officially dropped on Youtube, and I haven’t been this excited for a movie in a long time. There is a ton of cool stuff happening in the trailer. It looks like this is just going to be set 30 years after the 80’s Ghostbusters movies. It’s not entirely clear how much Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and Ernie Hudson will be in the movie, but I believe they were all rumored to be filming. So check out the trailer and leave a comment or hit me up on social media and give me your thoughts.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife

We knew that Paul Rudd was going to play a major role, but we get to see him in action in the trailer. We also get to see the kids, played by Mckenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard, in their roles. Like I said, I’m not sure how much the remaining original cast will be in the film. It is notorious that Bill Murray wanted nothing to do with another sequel for a long time. But I have some a theory about who these characters are, and their relation to the original movies.

Paul Rudd with a Ghost trap

It may already be widely know but I just haven’t read up on it. But it seems clear in the trailer that the kids are related to one of the original Ghostbusters. The house the move into is said to have belonged to their grandfather. My guess is, since Harold Ramis passed away in 2014, the kids will be Spangler’s grandkids. With him leaving the house to his daughter with all the Ghostbusting gear in it. I may be completely off or stating facts everyone already knows, but that’s my feeling from just watching the trailer. Another idea is that they are related to Venkman. There was talk that the only way Murray would appear in a sequel was as a ghost. So maybe that will by how Aykroyd got him to film.
