Sword Master #5

Sword Master 5

Lin Lie gets a visit from Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange, in Sword Master #5. Also, in Master Class part 5, Shang-Chi and Lin work with Ares to find his son. Observer in Darkness picks up after Ji Shuangshuang has saved Lin’s life. Lin finds out he is the descendant of the Fu Xi clan. And later, he finds out a sorcerer is after his sword to take down Doctor Strange.

My only real grip about Sword Master is that it is split between the origin and the Master Class story. That leaves little room to get a lot of action out of either story. And so far, I’m enjoying both stories. So I want more. I’m not sure how long the issues will be split like this, but if you’re wanting to get into this series, now would be the time to do it. There is a lot of good stuff in the origin of the Sword Master.

Sword Master #5

Ji Shuangshuang is about to make off with a spirit orb that was given to Lin by his father. As you can imagine, a stranger taking off with a huge clue does not sit well. While he is trying to catch up to her, a sorcerer, Baron Mordor, appears to try and take his sword. Luckily, Doctor Strange is not far behind to get rid of Mordor. But Lin Lie has another problem. Convincing Strange to let him keep his magical sword.

In Master Class, Lie, Shang-Chi and Ares are in Madripoor looking for Ares’ son. They work their way through the maze of a temple. They set off a couple of traps along the way. But Lin Lie uses his puzzle solving skills to get them through. The set a few golems free when they reach Ares’ son. But just when they think they are free, Davi Naka, Mother Goddess of Madripoor appears.
