Buffy Chosen One 1

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chosen Ones #1 is the beginning of a new Boom Studios series that has three tales of Slayers past. Each story is written and drawn by a different creative team. And they are each from a different time period with different Slayers. Its a cool collection that helps build up to the coming Angel and Buffy crossover event, The Hellmouth.

The Eating of Men

This story is written and drawn by Celia Lowenthal. It takes place in Bologna during the 14th Century. The Slayer here has not yet come into her powers. Silvia is one of the children that have been out searching for the Man-Eater during the day. She returns home to a lecture from her Nanny Florentia and her father. They put her to bed but she awakens some time later to find her Nanny feeding on her father. Flourentia’s plan was to turn them all. But Silvia stakes her before she has a chance. She then runs away into the woods where she meets a watcher.

Behind the Mask

The final story is written and illustrated by Alexa Sharpe. It takes place in Paris in 1820. The Slayer here is Adelaide and she is trying to get to a masquerade. Paris is in a fuss about recent kidnappings. But the Slayer is on the hunt to stop them. The vampire responsible targets Adelaide for his next victim. Unfortunately for him it is later that we all find out that she is the Slayer.
